Birthday date with the first man in my life

I had the simplest celebration of me getting on the third decade only with my family.

And the only right person to spend the rest of the day is with the first man in my life. (sorry loveko! :-)

Yep! a movie birthdate with my Papa. (Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief).

I will always be daddy's little girl.

30! Living, Loving, Learning and still...

I am thirty! Independent still, single still! And do I wish to remain as to what my status is? I’m not complaining neither going grumpy over the fact that I’m not tying the knot sooner than expected. It is agreed upon. Period.

Instead, let me just make this entry as something I’ve been longing to write all this time, waiting for the perfect 30!

30 years of living, loving and learning and still…
Life’s lessons learned:
1. Never ever lose hope. Prayer with action works.
2. Be sincere in everything you say and do always.
3. Patience is a virtue. It doesn’t mean that when you close your mouth to stop the argument the other person is right. It just means that you choose to be wrinkle-free.
4. Be kind even when others are harsh. But don’t let them abuse you.
5. Stand on what you believe is right.
6. Believe that your time to shine will come in His time. But you have to work on it…hard.
7. Have your “me” time, silent time alone. Free your mind of worries for a time.
8. Play sports with friends or just simply hang out for bonding moments. You’re not living alone in this planet.
9. Spend time with parents. Coffee talk. Happy dinner.
10. Never stop learning… a new skill, a new song, or visit a place you’ve never been to.
11. Say “thank you” and “please” with a smile.
12. Enjoy life’s simple pleasures like a good TV show, laughing with friends, ice cream, or your soft pillow.
13. Use your words to bless and encourage others.
14. Listen to what others are saying. But listen more to what they’re not saying.
15. Give the person the benefit of the doubt. Believe in his goodness.
Love lessons learned:
1. When you say I love you, mean it.
2. When you say I’m sorry, be sincere.
3. Listening is the key to fewer fights.
4. Love like you’ve never been hurt before. The other person deserves that.
5. Believe in second chances and give second chances.
6. If he really likes/loves you, he’ll find ways to be with you.
7. Let go when it’s time to. It doesn’t mean you’re weak, it just means you’re strong enough to be unselfish.
8. Say what you feel, or what you like, your partner is not a psychic or even if he is. If you what him to get it right.
9. Never let him be your priority, while allowing yourself to be just his option.
10. Don’t be too clingy or needy. You and me against the world is sickening.
11. Travel together and discover new places. Learn and do things together from adventures of scuba diving to the simplest like washing the dishes.
12. When you argue, argue on the present point, not the past points.
13. Have separate set of good friends, but let both know who they are even in just names.
14. Trust your partner. Ask nicely when in doubt.
15. Hug a lot, I mean a lot. Hold hands always, I mean always. Kiss on the forehead, nose and chin is an up.
A lot more to add, and a lot more to learn. But for now, let me enjoy and share what God has blessed me and still blessing me. Happy 30 me!

Going back to normal phase

While for the last almost two months, I couldn't find time to sit down for hours to just read or browse the net, chill and do nothing since I'm extremely energized, for the very obvious reason. Hehehe!

Just this late afternoon, it's back to little bonding moments with friends over happy badminton game and bluff bets. Yeah! Bluff bets, when at the end of it all... all were winners. Hahaha!

Oh well, while I'm still looking forward to loooong sleep over my coming rest days, but being with them is a better choice as always. For this only happens when the work and our own schedule permits, which is quite seldom thing to happen...

adik/insomniac - it's nice to hang out with you again!(^o^,)

Be back soon

I know it's been quite a while since my last entry here...
And yes I'm excited to share what had happened for the past few weeks that I'm lost in somewhere... or should I say in someone's arms... ooops not to mushy here...
But yes, I'm lost in time...
But I'll be back soon...
And I hope you're still there for me...

Some things...

Some things has to change, and it takes a lot of courage to do what is necessary. Sometimes I wish to be invisible for a time until all eyes closed for me...

Case no. 15: When it just cannot be

I just read this email from a girl friend. From the lyrics itself, she needed not to say anything about what she's feelin', and I must admit, listening to the song...made me sigh... for some things in life are meant to be just like that!

Thinking Of You lyrics

Katy Perry

Comparisons are easily done
Once you've had a taste of perfection
Like an apple hanging from a tree
I picked the ripest one, I still got the seed

You said move on, where do I go?
I guess second best is all I will know

'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
(Thinking of you, thinking of you)
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
(Spending the night, spending the night)
Oh, I wish that I was looking into your eyes

You're like an Indian summer in the middle of winter
Like a hard candy with a surprise center
How do I get better once I've had the best?
You said there's tons of fish in the water, so the waters I will test

He kissed my lips, I taste your mouth, oh!
(Taste your mouth)
He pulled me in, I was disgusted with myself

'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
(Thinking of you, thinking of you)
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
(Spending the night, spending the night)
Oh, I wish that I was looking into

You're the best, and yes, I do regret
How I could let myself let you go
Now, now the lesson's learned
I touched it, I was burned
Oh, I think you should know!

'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
(Thinking of you, thinking of you)
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
(Spending the night, spending the night)
Oh, I wish that I was looking into your, your eyes
Looking into your eyes, looking into your eyes

Oh, won't you walk through?
And bust in the door and take me away?
Oh, no more mistakes
'Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay, stay

2010

I was lucky to have celebrated new year with my family, I mean last Christmas I was at work, and to file for a holiday leave from work is quite difficult since we're operating 24/7 and no holidays for manufacturing people.
I was home December 28 and what a sight seeing my parents almost dance with glee after kissing them.
This year, we opted for a quiet new year celebration, no fountain nor trumpillo (which is my favorite) nor lusis to be lighted. Instead we enjoyed blowing local horns (torotot), dancing in volume high Beyonce music and shaking tin cans with coins.

Celebrating with us, my half sister, Ate Marie and her kids.

Eating our Media Noche breakfast.
Have a Prosperous New year!!!

Giving gifts

Are you guilty of giving generic gifts?
Generic gifts meaning one same gift for all. It may differ in color but still the same mug, ballpen, pouch, bag, etc. etc.
Well, I'm quite guilty of it. Only quite, of course, for this season for all my god-children; dolls and toy soldiers.
For my officemates, hierarchy of working relationship applies here... hehehe! don't get me wrong, it just follows.
The degree of friendship counts. And so at this stage, each friend I buy specific special gift. That's why whenever I do my Christmas gift shopping, it has to be on different dates or else 24 hrs wouldn't be enough to find what I'm looking for.
Thank God for this years' blessings amidst recession and calamities. I still have enough to share for all the people close to my heart and even for some who are in need.

It's better to give than to receive...
Enjoy the cool wind and warm hugs this season brings... (^_^,)

Christmas Emoti-songs

Admit it or not, this season is heightened by emotions... Whether you're feeling blue or red or yellow or pink... the air is infectious... And for the lonesome hearts... (including mine, yep! since me and my beau are miles apart), I wanna share some of my all time favorite Christmas emoti-songs as I called it. That whenever I hear it, I can't help myself but to sing all along with much reminiscing and hopefulness, (perhaps) but not actually saddens my heart instead brings a tiny smile while going back down the memory lane.

4. Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two

Although it's been said many times, many ways,
"Merry Christmas to you."

- the melody is just so soft and inviting...

3. Perfect Christmas
My idea of a perfect Christmas
is to spend it with you

in a party or dinner for two
anywhere will do

- yeah! i still wish for a perfect christmas...

2. Christmas Won't be the Same Without You
Christmas won't be the same without you (without you)
Christmas won't be the same if you go
All I need to see standing by my
Christmas tree (is you)

- haaayy!

1. Sana Ngayong Pasko
Sana ngayong Pasko
Ay maalala mo pa rin ako
Hinahanap-hanap pag-ibig mo
- oh well! this song said it all...

Christmas...

Wrapped in fancy, shiny paper, tied with gold-glittered ribbon... who doesn't expect to receive any gifts this season?

Well, somehow I do!
I don't know, after 6 years of celebrating Christmas away from home... I kinda learned to breathe Christmas air quietly alone... Well, I may sound sad and lonely, but I've worked it out after all this time, (believe me!).

Obviously, my company is my mobile phone... Of course, given are txt greetings from friends and phone calls. But, I won't be hiding the fact that I still wish to have "A Perfect Christmas"... but for now, I've settled myself to celebrate Christmas day with a mass, over pizza and pasta from a fast food, vodka cruiser, christmas carols on the background while opening gifts from friends...in my little abode.

But, Yeah! it may not be too much to expect a little surprise after all...

And so, I'll just sing my heart out...

...Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams...

Say it!

I will say what I feel
I will tell you
what's on my mind;
what's in my heart
I don't care
what'll be your reaction
I don't care
what'll you'll say
All I hope is that
you'll listen...

I miss you...

I miss you so,
but there's nothing I could do
but to wait
till we can be together again...

Case No. 14: Secret Lovers

Text message: "Aura, are you here in Manila today? can we meet up?"
"Yep! hmmm sounds... ok meet you same time, same place today."
"Thanks a lot friend, see you!"

...
I'm no love guru, but my ears have heard all sorts of love problems, situations, even the craziest, sweetest and most bitter of it all. But this one is the most shocking of all...
and I couldn't say much... to a friend who's so, so dear to me. The tears broke my heart and our silence kept the much needed warmth for a listening friend, that I am and will always be.
Dumbfounded of such reality, troubled and empty. For my friend, I wish I could whisk my wand and turn back time for you to start all over again, but of course, that cannot be...
I believe that in all things we do, we have a choice. Whether to stay stuck or step forward, we have a choice. To stand still or bend a little, still there's a choice. To sleep rather than to eat, that's a choice. And in every choice we make, comes responsibilities.
Loving is never wrong, the timing perhaps and the person we choose to love. Still that is our choice. It may be the right love at the wrong time or why can't it be drama, but the consequences of our actions are all the same.
To be righteous or to go astray, who am I judge? We are all grown-ups. Seeing ourselves in a situation we never imagined we're going into is our own-making. There's no other person to blame but ourselves. Much of the people involved.
Still a long process to go through, but to let go or hold on is the hardest choice. To be stand firm or to be weak in that decision, I know time and time will tell, but still there's a choice.

Secret Lovers
by Atlantic Starr

Here we are, the two of us together,
Taking this crazy chance to be all alone,
We both know that we should not be together,
Cause if they find out it could mess up,

Both our happy homes

I hate to think about us all meeting up together,
As soon as I look at you it will show on my face,
Then they'll know that we've been loving each other,

We can't let'em know, girl, no, no,

We can't leave a trace.

Chorus
Secret lovers that's what we are,

We should not be together,

But we can't let go cause we love each other so.

Sitting at home I do nothing all day

But I think about you and hope that you're okay,
Hoping you call before anyone gets home

I wait anxiously alone by the phone.

How could something so wrong be so right,

I wish we didn't have to put our love out of sight,

Living two lives just ain't easy at all,

But we gotta hang on in there or fall

Chorus

Secret lovers that's what we are,

Trying so hard to hide the way we feel,

Cause we both belong to someone else,

But we can't let go cause what we feel is oh so real...

So real,

So real...

Bridge
You and me,

Are We friend,

Is this cool,

Or do we care ?

Can they tell what's in our mind ?

Or maybe we'll be secret lovers all of the time ?

In the middle of making love we notice the time,

We both get nervous 'cause it's way after nine,

Even though we hate it we know it's time that we go,

We gotta be careful so that no one will know.

Chorus

Secret lovers that's what we are,

Trying so hard to hide the way we feel,

Cause we both belong to someone else,

But we can't let go cause what we feel is oh so real...

So real,

So real...
